Reaching the people of Ecuador with the love of Christ

...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Isaiah 61:3

Arrival to Quito...

After almost three years we have finally arrived back to Ecuador!  Our first week and a half we have spent fixing up our apartment.  We only lack living room and furniture and a dining room table.  They have both been ordered and everyday they tell me it will be in tomorrow!  Oh well, at least we have a place to sleep!  The view from our apartment is gorgeous!  On a clear day we have a straight on view of the volcano, Cotapoxi.
We enrolled the kids in school and they have even seen some of their old friends. Cole saved his money for two years to buy a desktop gaming computer and this past week he bought one to adorn his room.  Brooklyn is working on her room.  She has painted it two shades of blue and working on some tar heel artwork to decorate her walls.
I went back into the prison this week.  There are still some faces I recognize from the last time I was there!  My friend Teresa lead the bible study and an african woman shared an incredible testimony of how God has answered three of five prayers she has been praying.  One included one about her health.  She is HIV positive and they haven't been giving her the medicines she requires.  However, she has been praying that God would sustain her and at her last visit her CD4 counts actually were higher than they have ever been while taking the HIV medicine!  We continue to fight against the odds.  Many women are still without hope, drug addicted, and depressed.  Continue to pray for these women that they would know the saving power of Jesus Christ.
Mickey has helped haul appliances and furniture into the apartment with the help of our missionary friends.  He is in the process of looking for a used car to help us get around and preparing to go to the jungle next week to work with a construction team there.
Thanks to all our missionary friends here in Quito who have welcomed us, helped drive us around, and help us find things for the apartment.  We couldn't have had such a smooth transition without their help!  Thanks also, to the NC District women for providing funds to furnish our apartment!
Last but not least thank you to all our supporters and churches for your prayers and financial support!
