Wow in one month, we have fully furnished and painted our apartment, reconnected with old friends, made new friends, enrolled the kids in school, started ministry again in the prison, made a trip to the jungle, etc...
With all the flurry of activity we have experienced a roller coaster of emotions. From being stressed, tired, excited, encouraged and discouraged. We thank God for being with us through them all! He has been our rock and every time we get off balanced we refocus our eyes on Him. He has helped us in so many ways and we can not thank Him enough!
Mickey's trip to jungle was full of adventure. He worked with a delightful team from Alabama. The men on the team along with Mickey worked on an addition to a girls home. This home offers education, a place to stay, job training, and spiritual guidance to around 20 young teenage girls. They have recently accepted 10-12 more girls and therefore were in need for this addition. While the men were busy mixing cementing the women on the team helped with VBS to hundreds of kids from the jungle.

This little guy created this bike.
As far as me, I have been a total disaster in the kitchen!! I how I did not miss cooking in this high altitude. I have already ruined brownies--hard on the edges and gooey in the middle, ruined a cake for the same reason, tried no bake cookies--they got hard before I could even get them out of the pot, and of course rice--will I ever get it right??? It comes out either crunchy or in one big sticky ball and that is even with a rice cooker! Oh well, practice makes perfect right! Wish I had pictures but I wasn't in such a good mood when my failures were at their finest moments.
The kids are doing well. They have painted and fixed up their rooms. They have spent many hours keeping up with their friends back home. We have gone ice skating, and tried out multiple ice cream places. Our favorite ice cream has been Magnum popsicles. They are ice cream popsicles with a chocolate covering. They even have a new one with mint ice cream! Next week they will head to the job site with a team we are co-hosting from South Carolina and help with the building of a church!
